Throughout his illustrious life, Late Prof. B. B. Lal had worked tirelessly to find the true history of ancient Bharat. Where the wrong historicity of ancient India, manufactured by Western historians in colonial times was being told and retold until it became normalised, he was one of those pioneers who tried and achieved to establish the falsity of the infamous Aryan Invasion Theory, by categorical data points. Prof. Lal in his lifetime shared his findings with reasoning through his celebrated book “THE RIGVEDIC PEOPLE: ‘Invaders’?/’Immigrants’? or Indigenous?”, and yet tried to make it available to the native Hindi speakers through this book “Aryon ka Aadidesh Bharat”, at his centenary years. What is the etymology of the word ‘Arya’? How did it become a term to represent a race? We will find these answers in the discussions, and delve into other alleys of historical knowledge.
About The Speakers:
Air Vice Marshal Rajesh Lal: He was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1968 as a fighter pilot. He fought actively in the 1971 war with Pakistan and headed an operation base during the Kargil War. Being a qualified Flying Instructor, after his retirement, he joined the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy, as its Chief Pilot, and has written an array of books on Indian History.
Meenakshi Lekhi: She practiced in various courts, including several tribunals, the Delhi High Court, and the Supreme Court, with a particular focus on Indirect taxes and Criminal Law. Being elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in May 2014 from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), and re-elected to the 17th Lok Sabha in May 2019, she also established herself as an orator on Indian history.
Sanjeev Sanyal: He is an Economic Advisor to the Government of India. An internationally acclaimed economist and a best-selling author, he spent two decades in the financial sector and was Global Strategist & Managing Director at Deutsche Bank till 2015. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Oxford University, an Adjunct Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies, Singapore, and a Senior Fellow of the World Wide Fund for Nature. He has also served on the Future City Sub-Committee of the Singapore government.
Swapan Dasgupta: He is a former MP in the Rajya Sabha, a Padma Bhushan laureate, and an illustrated journalist.
