Sriram Balasubramanian is an Economist and Author who contributes extensively to national and international publications. Besides being an alumni of Columbia University, he has had wide international exposure living and studying in more than 3 continents. He has contributed Op-Ed’s/Opinion pieces to publications such as The New York Times, Foreign Policy, Forbes India, The Hindu, The Times of India, Swarajya among others. Besides this he has been an independent television commentator/analyst on economic issues for news organizations such as CNBC TV18.

Besides working on a current book on the ‘Arthashastra’, he has authored two books ‘Jamba-The Joint Family’ and ‘The Wizards’ (US version). The former was launched by Amish Tripathi, India’s Number 1 selling author and was shortlisted to be at the ‘Third Annual Literary Festival IAAC Festival’ by the Indo-American arts council. The latter was launched by the Norwegian Ambassador to the USA in NYC and was featured in the NYTimes as part of their World Chess Championship coverage in NYC in 2016. His key areas of interest are in economic policy, economic history and Dharmic civilizational linkages to modern India.
