In this age of technology, it is the need of the hour that complex subjects and treatment methods like Āyurveda required to make it computable with data science and artificial intelligence. The speaker Rishi Agarwal, based on his qualifications in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, and Computational Biology with passion driven by curiosity in Ancient Indian medical sciences has created “Ayurveda Informatics” which is a computable database and research innovation platform to approach Āyurveda.
To understand this advancement in Āyurveda, the speaker gives a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental elements of it. The Science of Āyurveda focuses on the essence of lifeforms and their interactions which is based on the theory of the Pañchamahābhūta (Five Elements). The Dravyaguṇa parameters (pharmacological behaviour of a substance) provide an understanding of the attributes of these Five Elements and their interplay with the human biological system in the context of Vikṛti (individual’s state of relative health or imbalance) and shatkriyākāla (six stages of progress of a disease).
About the Speaker:
Rishi Agarwal is an M.Tech from IIT Guwahati in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering and the Founder of Ayusla and Aharx Healthtech. His focus is on Computational Biology, Systems Biology, and Bioinformatics applied to diagnosis, treatment, drug discovery, and research innovation in Āyurveda.
