The six-pointed star is the seed of life — and drawing it with awareness is not an artistic act but a yogic one. Artist, designer, and sacred geometry explorer Vivechana Saraf leads an experiential session at Shakti Kumbh 2024 on the Shatkatara (six-pointed star) as found in Sri Aurobindo’s symbol, the Star of David, and ancient cosmological traditions worldwide.
She places the symbol within the language of number consciousness, arguing that numbers are not merely quantitative but have intrinsic qualities that affect consciousness. The six-pointed star, she explains, emerges naturally from the “seed of life” — the first primal geometric expansion of a single point — and represents the meeting of the ascending (aspiration) and descending (grace) triangles, embodying cosmic balance and the infinite loop of creation.
The session blends art, geometry, and spiritual practice: participants draw the symbol themselves as an act of meditation, entering the consciousness of what they are creating. Vivechana connects her work across multiple traditions — she lives in Israel where the Star of David is part of her daily reality — finding in them a common language of harmony, interconnection, and care for the living world.
