Ram Janmabhoomi Movement to Ayodhya Verdict: A Scholarly Journey | Dr Koenraad Elst

In the Autumn of 1988, Dr. Elst first came to India, where the environment was politically charged with religious unrest and the eve of the Ayodhya movement. After his meeting with Late B B Lal Ji, he came to the realisation of the biased and unreasonable character of Indian secularism, and that was the time he got involved with this movement, mostly ideologically and academically, that brought forth an array of books on this subject, that is a treasure for the readers.
Dr. Koenraad Elst, an expert on Hinduism, became involved in the movement due to his concerns about the ban, which he connected to the Rushdie Affair. Through direct access and unique insights, Dr. Elst gained sympathy in Hindu circles amidst a secretive and distrustful culture. The Academic curiosity that makes him delve into this affair, in return the truth makes him, a foreigner in a position of supporting the Hindu claim in Ayodhya.
