Earlier this year, the Ghats in Varanasi were cleaned up by a determined team, led by Temsutula Imsong and Shailesh Pandey. Now called Mission Parijat (formerly, Mission Prabhu Ghat), the team collected more than 300 kg of waste during the 3-day mission. A month later, the mission was endorsed by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
To fulfil our dream of a Swachh Bharat (a cleaner India), individual across 30+ cities in India started a collective effort in Nov 2015. This mission called Shramdaan brings together groups of people in different cities to voluntarily adopt public places, clean them up and maintain them on a regular basis.

So, Shailesh and Tamsul Dola. I have been following Shailesh on Twitter for about one and a half, two years roughly. And last year, while following him, I came to know that in Varanasi, there is a clean-up of the ruins of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
So, I went to Varanasi around this time last year. I saw his photo on Twitter. It was a big car.
When I reached there, there was no car. And I recognized him from Twitter. So, I recognized him.
So, I asked, where is Shailesh? Oh, you are also Shailesh? He was a little interesting. He made such a face that I came to meet him. I don't know, I can't recognize him.
Anyways, he stayed with me for two or three days. Because there were two or three people in the office. And some of the most memorable days of my life, to be honest.
We started the clean-up from Kedar Hut. Then we took Gaurikund there. It was in a very bad condition.
And in Shailesh's direction, we cleaned it completely. We started the clean-up. We filled water in it again.
His program was like this. It was like this before. It must have progressed further.
Every Saturday, we would go to one Ghat. And we would clean it completely. We would fill water from Ganga.
And we would clean the entire Ghat. There is defecation upstairs. We would clean everything.
My question to Shailesh was, what is the benefit of this? Because people will come again and do it again. How does this change anything? And he told me, attitudes are changing. When there is a clean-up, everyone wants to keep it clean.
Gradually, people's attitudes change. And he gave me quite a few examples. I allow him to talk about all of that.
Before I hand over to them, we have a little video that we want to start with. Then they will start talking. And I would like you to introduce yourself.
From what little I know about Prem Suthoda, She is from Nagaland. And her Twitter handle says, I have been in search for a purposeful life or something like that. I think her years have been in searching.
She joined an NGO in Delhi. She has been looking around for some purpose. She reached Varanasi somehow.
I don't know how she reached Varanasi. It's just destiny. She started working with Sakar.
It was an NGO that Shailesh was running. Shailesh is an ex-policeman. And let me tell you one more incident about him.
I asked him, when Sakar started, how did you guys have fun? So he says, Prem Suthoda and I keep as much as we need to run the house. Everything else goes into funding Varanasi. Coming back to Prem Suthoda, She probably started working for Sakar.
Eventually, they both married. And I didn't know they were married when I landed up there. Suddenly he told me they were married.
So I said, oh son, I know. So Shailesh tries to remain in the background. And Prem Suthoda, to be honest, has become the face of the Swachh Bharat campaign.
She's met Naeem Modi. And she was invited to raise funds for Shailesh also. Naeem Modi ji.
And just doing terrific work. That's what we want to talk about today. Last thing.
You must have seen Swalesh. You must have seen Swalesh. Shah Rukh Khan's movie, Pani Bhi Bhai, It's about his coming back home to India moment.
I came to J&J 4-5 years ago. After that, I stopped eating out. It's been 6-7 years.
And when I was in Varanasi last year, So, Making India is a totally new definition. If you go to Golgappa, You'll be stopped and eaten. The whole Golgappa will be finished.
If you go to Papad, it'll be finished. We were a gang of about 15 people. And whatever we ate, We ate it all.
So, I'm not kidding. The Golgappa guy, He was covered in sweat. On that very day, He ate everything.
And started making Golgappas. He dipped the bananas and made them for me. And I was like, How do I do this? Oh my God.
He said, I'll eat it all. I said, we'll see what happens. And then I ate.
After that, I've been on backpacking trips throughout the country. And all my desire of eating out, eating with any kind of food, I broke it all. So, just in that time, I'll hand over and we'll start the video.
Thank you. Namaskar to all of you. Namaskar to all of you.
I'm so tiring. That's why no one wants to. Namaskar.
Namaskar. That's much better. It's indeed an honor for me to be I will be standing among all of you and share a few words about my experience and thoughts.
What I have gathered for a few years now in Varanasi. And I don't think my introduction, what Rahulji has given is just that's it. I am from Nagaland, came to Delhi, I worked here for some time.
At that time, I met a few of my friends from the NGO, to register the NGO. And that's how later I resigned from here, the work I was doing. And after that, I went to Bihar.
So it's been a few years, I have been working in Varanasi and Kashi has really blessed me. Gangaji has really blessed me. Shramdhan, Shramdhan, it's not a new thing, right? It has been there, I think it's as old as our Vedas.
Everyone knows about what is Shramdhan. But why we are here today, again, to speak about, to talk more about Shramdhan, is I think, unfortunately, we are living in a world, in a stage where we see a lot of negativity. Right? Whenever you get up in the morning, you print your newspaper and Usme bhi, wahan bhi wo hogaya, wahan bhi bhi worry, murder, all those negative things.
And TV channel chalao, usme bhi, all those wars, na? So, for us, I think we have literally stopped watching all the English channels, really. So, I think because of that negativity around us, we are trying to talk about the Shramdhan, to understand more about Shramdhan. The elders, the friends who are here, and everyone, even the youngsters, we are involved, na? Kisi na kisi hum log Shramdhan mein involved hai.
It's just that maybe some, you are doing it, maybe you are not realizing, or it's not been highlighted. Isliye, wo jo positive things hum log karte hai na, maybe that's not coming to the real media or to the real world. So, I'll share my experience, uske baad agar time hote hai, toh I think questions bhi hai, toh usme hum log discuss karenge.
Yes, I am from, I belong to a village. I am coming from a village, a small village in Agra land called Omma. My district is Mogongchong, which those who are, if you are aware of Himachor, you have to go from Himachor or from Kohima also, you can go to my village.
Now, those who are from village, they can connect to me. See, in villages, I'm not saying that in cities like Delhi, it's not happening, but in villages, if someone is building a house, or we have majang, I mean, the houses is made of mostly bamboos and wooden. So, there, if you wanted to make a house, haan, the whole community come together, the owner has to, just has to do, he has to collect, bring the materials, uske baad, kaana bekar hain, kuch rakho.
Then the whole village come together, they will build the house until it gets finished. Right, that's how the community, the helping hands, abhi bhi chalte hain. Even in fields, sowing time, weeding time, or even harvest time, it's a festival for the villagers.
Everyone comes together because I have a field to harvest. And the next door people also, the next door uncle or auntie is also having the same work. So, the whole community come together, they work, they enjoy, it's a festive.
Even for cleaning the rocks, and whatever surrounding, not cleaning the surroundings, everything they come together, they work, yeah, of course, especially during winters. Uder toh bahari hai, hum log paani ka toh itna dikkat hota hai. So, now it's three, four months, it has been raining the whole time.
Lekin abhi tab raining season katam hoga, paani tab dhura dhichay aa jata hai. Toh paani nahi hoga. So, during dry season also again, the whole village will come together, and then they will clean, they will try to clean all the trough, and then they will pour water.
Aisa sab kuch hota hai, and even in UP, everywhere, it's like that. Now, shamdhan is not only about cleaning our surroundings, it's nothing like that. Shamdhan is anything, anything we can do for shamdhan.
Like, for example, for past few years in Kashi and around Kashi, I have an amazing team, which we call it Mission Parijati. Now, along with my volunteers, we go to slums, villages, and we try to not talk to the underprivileged kids. Normally, aisa wala section mein jaake, hum log paan krti aise normally.
And we'll try to check whether they use nail cutters at home, or we'll try to see, you know, like, especially in ladies and girls' chai, hum log joo dekhta hai, hai na nahi hai, wo check karte hain, wo log nails kaise hai, wo pehle hum log check karte hain, baat karte karte hain. Haan, baat karte karte hain, wo check karte hain, uske paad, we'll just ask, like, do you use nail cutters? No. That section of society I'm talking about, no, they have never seen nail cutters.
Wo nail cutters use karke, why is it important to cut our nails once a week? Aisa paad karke, you know, like, and child mortality is too high in India, so it's very important to cut your nails. Aisa karke ek-ek nail cutters dekhta hain. And that is also a big thing for them.
And medical jo hai, agar choo hoga toh, the lady who is sleeping with a small baby at night, obviously she will be scratching and restlessly, no, toh at least ek raat ko teeth se soyega, toh subah uthke, at least wo bache ko toh nahi maarega, that kind of na, aisa choti-choti we try to do, hand washing, why it's very important, this kind of thing we share with the people. And really, I'm telling you, really, it helps a lot, it helps a lot, no. And, like, sometimes I do very, it's funny also, but on the platforms also if you see, trains may, you know, I mean, different types of section of people there.
Now, many a times I see old people carrying a luggage which is bigger than him, or which is much, much heavier than what he's supposed to carry. Toh aisa karke dekhta hain, toh, haan, utha deta hain, it's okay, I'll just carry that, and, no, wo stairs ke platform ke bahar jana hain, toh bahar drop kar deta hain, nahi toh train pe charna hain, toh train me jaake udhar pehta deta hain. So, all these small things matter, it's very small, and this thing doesn't cost you anything.
It's just that, hum log sab, we are human, so inhibitions hota hain, reluctant, no, we are reluctant, agar main wo kar dekha toh, log kya sochega, no, like, we always think like that. And I, every one of us, we have, we have positive spark in us, right? That spark, we should not lose it. Wahi, and, kyunki many a times hum log sochte hain na, agar main, toh accha karne ka kaam, toh timaag mein bhi aate hain, phir bhi, wo, nahi, agar wo, agar main aisa karega toh, log kya sochega, usme bohot par, wo that thing, that positive energy, that positive spark, which comes to our mind, it gets vanished.
So, we should not let it happen, because, I, nahi, I have experience, I mean, even if you feed a needy, needy people, needy one, like, can be a beggar, or anyone, anyone on the roadside, if you buy something, I mean, like, just a bread or, you know, aur kuch bhi de toh, nahi, that smile will also give you some, you know, that's a blessing, wo ashubhat hota hain. And, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, I don't know, main bhi, main bhi yahan bhi tha, Delhi mein tha, seven years, main bhi kuch aisa, kuch nahi kiya tha, sahi mein, beggars mein kabhi abhi, coins, ek toh rupee, aisa daal deta tha, phir bhi, nahi, Kashi mein, I think maybe it's because of Kashi, or I don't know, but, that moment, not that moment, you get something. I'll give you one example, that day we were cleaning Corry Road, after you guys left, and us din, I think two, three days, I was not having rice, and I'm a big time rice lover.
Not this day, we eat rice all the time. Toh mein, Shailesh ko, aur pachon ko bola, aarey, rice kaani kar manne, bohot din hota hai, teen din se, main karna bhi pagaya nahi, ghar pe, aur rice kaani kar manne. And, Kedarkar pe, it's been one year, we are sitting, we are cleaning, and filling the cones, lekin, kabhi nahi, prasad bhaith hai.
Us din, ek South Indian wala aa ke, unhone bulao, but aa ke sab ko de rahe hai. Babre, I mean, no, I just said, I wanted to have rice, us time mein, wo de, prasad de rahe hai. Babre, I ate it, I'm like, it's so fulfilling.
Aur, nahi aisa bohot kuch hai mere saath, it's happening, and I'm getting the, no, blessing. So, ya, but last year, we started a cleaning class, right, for Bhubaneshwar, it was very few pictures took. And, that time, we were only four, five.
And, four, five mein se, doi ladki, matlab, me and Darshika, we are, you know, she is a girl, and, now, three, there were three gentlemen with us, lekin, chalu toh magrega nahi hain lo, toh, Darshika and I, we said, at least, aap log chalu toh lagayega nahi, so, please, you can buy some chalu, and some brushes, and, bleaching powders leke ho, kyunki, woh hua, woh da, black, black, woh toh hoga. Toh, they, they, everything, and, we were still worried, ham log itna hai hai, or, the human ice cream and what you've got, woh itna, woh pura hai, aisa, toh, kaisa saap hoga, toh, pehle din, toh, bleaching powder, aisa laga hai, ki, ham log mein, start toh kiya, phir bhi, yeh kaisa hoga, but, when we started, we wanted to see the car clean, aur, hamare baas, volunteers bhi nahi tha, kuch nahi tha, phir bhi, hamare mann mein, clean karke rakhna hai, aur, yeh, pura saap karke dekha denge, pura saap karke, malao ko, aur, visitors ko, denge, kyunki, that was the most secluded khaat, saap log, woh khaat se, phata phata nikal janda na, kyunki, the, the smell was, it was too, too much. No, aisa karke, ham log mein start kiya, from the, from the second night onwards, we got lots and lots of volunteers.
So, what I am trying to say here is, you try to do something for the nation, for the society, the, the positive thing which is coming in your life, anything, anything, nothing, people will just join you. Many a times, I have seen, you know, I used to ask students, most of them are students, so I, I asked them, like, when they, when they join for the first time, why you, why you are doing, why did you join? Of course, we asked volunteers, come and join, come and join and clean, aisa ham log paat karte hain, phir bhi, why did, why did you say yes? That's the question, again, I will ask, you know, like, and they will say, like, kuch toh karna, no, kuch karne ke liye manda, lekin, aisa lag kabhi moka nahi mila. So, that's the, no, that's the attitude of our young generation.
So, we just have to pinch, karo, and people will just join you like that. And, now, we have a Shramdhan, amazing Shramdhan India group, oh, I'm sorry, I'm bringing greetings from our Mission Paritya team and all our Shramdhan India group, we have, we mean to clean team there, they are working in Delhi, they are doing amazing job, mostly in West Delhi, West Delhi, tomorrow, they will be doing at Konark place, right, CB Inner Circle, so, anyone, everyone is invited, I'm saying it on behalf of them. So, like that, people are joining from different cities, we are also doing this, and we, in that group, no one is, no one is, no, everyone, everyone is doing something and we are getting, we are inspired, no, we mean to clean is doing at Delhi, we are at, you know, Paranasi, Mumbai team is there, Poncho Pools, Raipur, and again, Sarkar team, and Karthikpur, like that, different groups, and anytime, whenever we do Shramdhan, whenever we do cleaning or planting, you know, plantation, we do anything, we put a photo in that group, we did this, so, like that, everyone is blessed by that photo also, right, so, like that, we are coming, and, yeah, I think, what I have been achieved is amazing, I mean, the team is achieving a lot of things, and we are, I think, we are trying to inspire more and more people, and, in Kashmir, especially, again, one thing, what we do is, our team, we visit some schools, and those schools are not private ones, we don't go to hi-fi schools, because they already have all the facilities, so, we do this, which is a primary school, which is run by, we have a particular school, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, and they have around hundred and something students, and our team, we visit the school, and what do we do there, I mean, we can do anything, I mean, we teach basic computers, computers, and, and, that thing is also, very big for them, and even, you will be blessed, doing that also, and basic English, will be, add on, like that, so, from that, I think, anything, whatever comes to your mind, you can, just go ahead, you can do, and, maybe what I am saying, it's not be very suitable for Delhi, but, you know, around Delhi also, maybe on the streets also, you can start anything, and everyone is having Android point, so, from there also, you can do anything, you don't stop, if you don't want to stop also, just, like, that will be your, that will be also good, students say, we don't have money, to do all this, if you want to do nail cut, we don't have money, no, you have your phone, you can teach anything, anything, simple accounting also, you can teach to those labourers, rickshaw wala, see, many a times, many a times, I ask rickshaw wala, 3 times, 50 rupees, 100 rupees, they don't know, basic accounting, they will say, 50 rupees, 100 rupees, how to use that, not like that, so, small things, you might think that it's very small, but, if you can do something to help your fellow citizen, that will be your shundan, so, anything that comes to your mind, you just go ahead, you can do, and our team is already there, you can join our team also, and whatever you are doing, you can show your photos also, and yeah, what I have learnt is, I when we started cleaning Prabhugar, I said let's use the social media, at least some people will be attracted, and they will join our team, our mission, and my experience, sometimes, we are human, so, what will you do after cleaning, because people are still not doing, living off their cars, people are doing whatever they have to do, so, I get tired, but, through social media, I have received an amazing response from all of you, many friends, they got encouragement, so, that's my experience, and if you show your good works, now you have Facebook, Twitter, so, people are, somehow, or the other, you will inspire your friend, so, I think I am taking too much time, so, so, here, today, I just wanted to ask, everyone, what I have said, what I am doing, you can also do, right, that is easy, nothing is required, so, after that, you can pledge, yes, yes, I was just doing that, so, thank you so much, in such a short notice period, all of you came, and if you get time, you can question me also, so, just before I, thank you, Srijan, organization, since last year, they have been supporting us, like, big time, and that is why, we are still, actually, working, and Rahulji, and Piyushji, we are the, you know, the one who did all this, and you guys have given us the big, big time opportunity, so, thank you so much, and thank you so much, everyone.
Namaskar. Namaskar. I am Shadesh Pandey, Rahulji told me, that there was a soldier, I said, there was, this is such a thing, that there was no soldier, there is a colonel sitting behind, once a soldier, always a soldier, maybe in the next life also, there is a serving soldier sitting here, he is the only person who has witnessed my past, a past which, almost, may never come out, Rahulji said, a few things, he was telling, actually, he hid one thing, in his fist, in the next fist, in his nose, actually, a drop of water fell in the fist, and he gave it to me, I had to eat it, because I was motivating him for making it there, if I would not have eaten it, then, it would have been a mess.
Now, let's come to Shraddhan, some of you guys must be doing Yoga, in Yoga, it is said that, there are four bases of a good life, now, maybe I have mispronounced some words, but, food, sleep, patience and rest, so, whoever does Yoga, he says, at least, for 20 minutes, do any kind of rest, any kind, he is from a village, I am also from a village, I am not from a very special village, because, I studied in KV for 10 years, later, my father felt that, I should go to a village, normally, the soldiers, my father was also in the army, so, this happens, my father, suddenly, he gets those pangs of consciousness, he says, let's go to a village, so, his eldest son, he is asked, let's go to a village, will you be able to manage, what will your son say, because, he has taken a decision, he has to say yes, so, he goes to a village, there are two or three things, in English medium, it comes in Hindi, he does not understand, those are different things, but, there are some very good things, he is able to notice, I did it, I thought, how does a village start in the morning, how does a village start its life, a person wakes up with his eyes closed, son, father, mother, and they start sweeping, there is no sweeping in that, we have Arhar, they start sweeping with that, and the special thing about it is that, cow dung covers everything, it is not soft, and it lasts for a long time, the good experts of the village, they cut it from the front, and it is much better than, any broom you have ever seen, much stronger, it lasts for a year also, when he does this, after that, he checks, whether the one next to him is clean or not, that is why, earlier, I did not understand, I used to ask my father, what are you talking about, later I understood, in the village, household chores, cleaning, everything, you do it, you do it, you make sure, that it gets cleaned, there is a small reason, if there is dust in his house, my dust will increase, in fact, I clean his house first, his farm will be cleared, then I will clean mine, we call it Shandan, there were marriages in the village, in marriages, we have five, sacks are laid in such a line, for everyone, if the village chief comes, he will also sit on that sack, if the richest man comes, he will also sit on that sack, and as soon as one pot gets up, the next one is ready, he is quickly swept, sprinkled with water, within minutes, it gets ready, I still do not understand, I have done it many times, but the timing, how two and a half thousand people got up after eating, and there is no garbage, yes, there is garbage behind it, for which a man lives, he cleans it, I remember one thing, we have barbers in the village, and this will be another discussion, the responsibility given to everyone in the village, that too is something different, it has a different nature, because it shows, how much people are connected to each other, he had a daughter's marriage, and due to the heat from the pan, her house caught fire, and within minutes, everything was burnt, everything was burnt, and within two hours, the wedding procession was about to come, I remember, everyone, the whole village got together, the wedding procession came, no one from the wedding procession came to know, that the house where we had to go, there was a fire, everything was destroyed, because the villagers got together, they brought curd, vegetables, they prepared everything, I am talking about the village again and again, because maybe, I lived in the village, the time I spent in the cities, this response comes in the cities, when we get into some problem, when we are going in traffic, we see that the bus is stuck in the middle, people get down from the cars, bikes, push it and clear it, you just saw in Chennai, when floods came in Chennai, there was a flood in Bombay, there was a problem in Delhi, so people came together, if we make it a habit, Shramdan, Shramavdan, this is a very complicated name, make it a habit, and do anything in your capacity, anything, some of you will be like, some CA, a kid, in a primary school, CA, police, army, you ask him, what do you want to be? He will say, I want to be an IAS, but that kid, has never interacted with an IAS, that kid, who is dreaming, what is his form? He wants to go to the police, he has never interacted with an inspector, or an SP, he has never interacted with anyone, his interaction, may be with a soldier, who is taking 10 rupees, you understand, the type of picture we are giving, because, we can keep our eyes closed, but ultimately, these are the people, who are going to make the society around you, you cannot be happy, unless you have got a nice society around you, which is thinking about, helping everyone, a few days ago, Rahul went to Ujjain, in Ujjain, there is a Mahakaal temple, I went to the Mahakaal temple, within 15-20 minutes, the darshan was getting completed, it was a very good event, I was going again and again, I got bored, I am coming from Patan, I cannot stay there, because he will push me, so what I started doing, some old women, who were old, kept a bundle with them, because they had to stay in the fair, so I used to go behind them, and pick up the bundle, some used to say, because they were tired, as soon as they used to give me, I used to feel, that I am a Rudra, of Lord Shiva, and I have been sent to help him, that connection, I used to feel, that I have been sent, and I used to get bored, I used to come again, there are small things, like you said, that you are going on a platform, some old man is struggling, you just asked, can I pick it up, nothing will go, believe me, when you say help, don't say help, it is for yourself, like Kashi says, we have a habit in Kashi, at night we both have a competition, we ask them, what did you do today, they ask us, if we can tell something, that they didn't do it for themselves, then they get one point, or I get one point, and today we are in such a situation, that we are afraid to wish, we are afraid to wish, because we are afraid, that this wish will not be fulfilled, because maybe we don't have the capability, to make the right wish for ourselves, we are not so knowledgeable, that what do I want, I don't know, I am at such a place, where the whole world comes to die, people come to Kashi for Moksha, I am there, and fortunately, I was telling them, that he is a man, he will not sweep, he is right, because he came fresh to Kashi, when I was there, I used to say, that he has made a mistake, so sweep his ears, so that he improves, this is a very small contribution, because I used to think, that I will sweep his ears, he will get one point, and the next day he will get another, they said that it will not happen, because you are not able to see, how much work you will do at night, then they, Darshika, when they made the intention to sweep, they told me, that you go, I will not be able to do it, because you must have seen the photos, where there are many minefields, many, at that time, even today there are two mines, if you go to Benaras, there is a Sakka Ghat, and a Telianala Ghat, these are two mines, I will give Rs. 20,000, to that person, who goes to the sea, that mine is plain, but you will not go to the sea, because, every morning, ok, there are many public toilets, around there, in which water comes 24 hours, but, when we ask the people, who make the minefields, what is your problem, first of all, you will say, stomach is upset, second, if you do not go out, nothing happens, ok, now it is daytime, you cannot say anything, what will you say to such excuses, what will you say to him, suppose, you are stopping him, and he sits there, you are making him move, what are you doing, he will say, I do not know Hindi, what will you do, this has also happened, Hindi, same way, when Prabhu Ghat is completely clean, we had decided, we will eat here, we ate there, it was very clean, it is the most beautiful area, you get so much peace sitting there, when it was clean, the next day, whoever has the habit, will leave it there, he saw, it was very clean, he must have found it, very clean, when he reached in the evening, he saw the minefields again, I said, now we will sleep here at night, we will sleep till then, till we catch one, because his work was done, it was clean, I told him, maybe somewhere in the army, there was another reason to leave the army, my temper, Sumit is sitting, it was not good, I could not control it, and there is still some problem, I told him, now we will sleep there, and every day, we will get one, two, three, four, if we explain them, we will get to know, there are 30 people, if you start stopping, think about the timing, 12.30, 1.30, 2.30, at this time, some people used to come, and they used to come secretly, if they see you sitting, they will go straight ahead, then later, it came down to four, and then it became so clean, that Bank of India wrote a letter to the commissioner, that brother, give us this mine, we will maintain it, today there are dustbins there, benches are there, when we saw that there was so much competition, and in Banaras, Modi ji tweeted on 31st March, his name, Banaras or UP, those of you who are from UP, you must know, UP is politically and socially very sensitive, if the Prime Minister, beats someone's back, then believe me, 10 people will do the same work, and it becomes a competition, that we will do more, in this competition, in 84 ghats of Banaras, there was a time, there were just 5 or 7 ghats, which were clean, today I can count only 2 or 4 ghats, see, there will be dirt, because people of Banaras are not doing it, there are many immigrants in Banaras, you can do anything, you can't do anything, for example, he will come in the morning, and his direct reason is, he is a rickshaw driver, he earns 50 rupees, he will never spend, 5 rupees per day, to use the toilets, he will never use it, my earning is 50 rupees, and suppose my stomach gets upset, if I have to go 10 times, he will not use it, and maybe, we are trying in this direction, we have talked to Sunak, to make it free for him, but till then he is not able to do anything, fire toilets, can I use it, till then, there is a lot of work being done, in Banaras, I have seen, the level of work, we have a small group, whatsapp group, Shramdaan India, Mahesh ji, they are in Delhi, they will do Shramdaan, today we will remove the posters, we will remove the posters, we will clean, we will paint, next day we will see, if any leader has removed his poster, people are not meeting, but it has been 6-7 months, 7 months, they have been working for 7 months, their hand was broken, they are still working, there are many other groups, like in Vidisha, Samarpit Parivaar, we feel, they have gone mad, if you think, in our interest, we get time on Sunday, what do we do on Sunday, under a bridge, outside a temple, we clean and paint, next day we move, there are a lot of people from Raipur, they are addicted, they will choose the worst place, transform, there are small groups, who are doing something, from their side, we have done, as they said, in 2011, there are many people here, who have known since 2010, in 2011, I did something different, it was new, I came on twitter, I left the army, in the army, you read the newspaper, we have internal debates, political topics, but outside, you don't say a word, you call it bad, but as soon as the soldier comes out, he gets a little voice, he expresses himself, when I came on twitter, I said, it is a big field, you can say whatever you want, for a few months, I was outraged, I think, there were people from America, from China, in a few months, I understood, there is something, something strange is going to happen, there is still something left, in that frustration, in 2011, I took an Enfield bullet, I left alone, I understood the effect of twitter, I left alone, I reached Kolkata, it is a distance of 700 kms, my back was bandaged, I thought, I will book a car from there, and end the journey, I read a tweet, you are the real sons of the earth, my back was a little bandaged, 3-4 tweets more, you are the real son of the soil, I thought, either I delete the twitter account, or continue the journey, after doing 1-2-3-4 tweets, I reached Bhudeshwar, after that Chennai, when I turned back from Kanyakumari, I thought, my home is nearby, during that journey, I travelled 17-18 thousand kms, in 45 days, at that time, I understood, India is great, there is love for the country, this is obvious, when you get to know this country, when you go to a random village, where you don't know the language, and you ask for water, even today, if you go to a village, no one will give you water, no matter who you are, this is still a culture, even today, if your car stops in a desert, people stop and ask, is there any problem, when I saw that for 45 days, I understood, India is great, there is love for the country, then I started going regularly, I used to post, fortunately, the people I used to interact with, were very positive, now I am a politician from UP, so, positivity and negativity, got mixed up, I started feeling, what will people say, then I got in touch with them, they came into my life, now a days, my source of positivity is their timeline, as soon as I feel, that I want to write something on this person, I start reading their timeline, there is nothing negative, they see what I want to do, and she is very focused, and she is the one, who started driving, we founded Sakaar together, she is a founder, and I am a founder, we founded Sakaar together, now I am away from her, she is doing everything, the sense of purpose she has, maybe because she is a Naga, that I couldn't positively develop, I won't be able to do it, because there is some focus, she has seen so many lives, she thought, there is something in this, as if it has been done, in Banaras, in Banaras, in 24 hours, she leaves her house, and gives all her time, and my work is, if I am asked peacefully, in an idea, that we want to do this, how to do it, my first consideration is, how much will it cost, then we see, how much it can be toned down, because our biggest strength, is not only this, our resources were less, I will tell you about Uttarakhand, when there was a flood in Uttarakhand, me and Harsh Chaturvedi, Dr. Harsh Chaturvedi, PhD, he did from US, he still wears slippers there, and there, in his convocation, he wore slippers and insisted, he is this type of a boy, we went to Uttarakhand, in Uttarakhand, in Uttarkashi, the hotel where we stayed, there were a lot of NGOs, and groups, people were staying there, so their routine was, daily in the morning, there was delivery material in trucks, which they used to load in helicopters, and they used to go and drop it, for one hour, it cost 80,000 rupees, me and Harsh, we took 35,000-40,000 medicines, because we felt, I was sitting in Banaras, he was sitting in Pune, we felt there will be a pandemic, so we should take medicines, so we took medicines in big bags, and it was really tough, the roads were broken, when we reached there, we saw more healthy people than us, there was no need of medicines, we said, how will we serve the society, what will we do, where will we go with the medicines, one day, we were going in a jeep, we came to know, villagers have tied a rope on a river, how do they take the food, a person will travel 40 km from here, from the market, he will buy wheat, wheat flour, then he will take 5 kg packets, through this rope, to that side, then he will go back 40 km, then he came to his senses, he said, if we tie this rope, it will be very good, he said, show me, when we were going to show him, his slippers broke, he said, you go, you will see, when he went down, it was easy to get down, when he came back, he saw the rope, there was no money in the ATM, from where will we get the rope, if we don't have the rope, how will we catch him, there were many problems, then the next day, we went to the SDM, what can be done, what were his words, Pandey ji, 15,000 rupees will be deducted, what can we do, we are busy, he was a bit egoistic, I tweeted that, we are trying to set up a ropeway, I am not an engineer, Harsh was also not an engineer, he came to his senses, we will make a ropeway, he googled it, there were many models, how will we do it, he wrote, anyone who wants to contribute, can come up within next 3 hours, then Shiv bhai came to Calcutta, he said, it will be done, there is no need to tell anyone, we said, how did we do it, he directly transferred the money, to Delhi, Shiv bhai sent one person, the car driver, the next day evening, the goods arrived, Alok Bhatt came with his team, he got a lot of help, the next day evening, the ropeway was set up, the first batch of goods, crossed 400 kgs, the next day, people started crossing, then we came, we gave them some money, we were happy, we still talk to them, today when the ropeway is hanging, the government had made one, which is not being used, if you want to do it, just think, in a flood, as soon as we think there is a flood, we think, let's go, and as soon as you reach there, you see, yes, you can do something, if your expertise is not in anything, then at least, you can recognize a person, that he is sick, a few days ago, I went to a village, Kajripati, there is a village called Kajripati, there is a village called Kajripati, we have a Rajbhar, when I went to that village, there, I tried to understand, what can be done there, the basic accounting, started from there, I asked the women, how do you survive, they were not able to tell, for example, their household income is Rs.2000, that lady does not know, her household income is Rs.3300, total expenditure, if she does not know, then there will be no concept of saving, so she and Darshika, they met, it is about 21 km from Banaras, they used to go there and explain, that when your husband brings money, ask him, if he gives, it is a good thing, ask him how much money you get, you will understand, and according to that, you can work harder, and you can cut some of your earnings, so that you do not get scammed, because you get scammed for Rs.200 per month, so from this side, I saw a change, in that same village, what they did, on cards, on small pieces of paper, your A4 size, by folding it, how much will be the expenditure of 20 papers, by folding and spreading, in that, all the unread ones, name, date of birth, address, and the voter ID, they wrote it down, they gave it to everyone, and asked them to laminate it, what will be the benefit, there are schemes for everything, Viklang pension, Vrindavasta pension, educational loans, schemes from all over the world, but they are unread, they cannot fill that form, but they can take that form, and take it to an educated person, who can show the card, that fill these details, small steps, it does not cost anything, but the time you give, when you go to the railway station, someone asks you to fill the form, that is also a shame, you do this for 5 minutes, go to a place, with a good pen, where you fill the forms, children fill the forms, you fill the forms, you come online, more than half are rejected, because they do not know, gender is written, male and female do not understand, English is also weak, they do not understand nationality, what is nationality, there it is written, in the details of education, they write their percentage, their vote, their form is rejected at the same time, you can also do this, I will come back to Samdhan, on Samdhan, we are trying, people do it slowly, slowly, whoever wants, Samdhan is neither mine, nor yours, nor Manish's, we have no ownership of it, anyone can do it, when we do it in an organized way, a few days ago we thought, and did it in some cities, in every city, where there is Samdhan, we will plant a tree, not a rickshaw, we will plant a tree, we will make that tree Samdhan, of that place, if it is alive, it means, Samdhan's spirit is alive, now rickshaw is there, people do it, in the middle of May, rickshaw is there, people say, today rickshaw is there, after 3 days, goat is there, this is the time of rickshaw, when water will come automatically, few days ago, there was a group, they said, we can't do anything, what can we do, they were good intellectuals, I said, you do one thing, you give ideas, I may have 2 ideas, but you have very good, you give, whatever comes to your mind, one idea was so good, if we can implement it, think about its effect, idea was, through Samdhan, we will train youngsters, anyone who wants to, in basic first aid, no money is required, one person will give training, other will say, soldiers are trained, you see, a person falls, his head is raised, 4 people stand around him, if someone has epilepsy, 4 people stand around him, asthma attack, no one knows, he is lying down, his diaphragm is pressing, that idea came in gathering, we are implementing it, we will do it soon, massive, we start from Kashi Ghat, 10-20 people join, put 4 photos on twitter, they said, I was not in favour of photos, they said, let it be, some of you might be shy, about what you are doing, why should we show, but understand, some people, because of your showing, they will say, I can do it too, they will hide it, no problem, but you did not inspire anyone, no one could do anything else, your effort was there, by telling, if 5 people get motivated, and do something for 10 minutes, 50 minutes, this is an achievement, this is an achievement, think about it, similarly, by taking small steps, by thinking something, ideas, and life is positive, self-control comes, because you get to feel that, the discussions, which have no meaning, you feel, what are you doing, what did I do, and then, the plane separates, believe me, if someone abuses you, you will laugh, you will feel, what is he doing, you will not feel bad, about someone abusing you, you will feel pity, what is he doing, someone has said, he is the best human being, how is he wasting, what is he doing, once, we will ask you, once to clutch, try to do anything, anything, like she was saying, keep a nail cutter in your pocket, it will cost you 20 rupees, if you see a child, a small child, playing in the dust, cut his nails, he will feel, what is he doing, but believe me, when he eats food, with dirty hands, he will have diarrhoea, his father will be a rickshaw driver, and he will spend all day, to buy medicines, for diarrhoea, for 56, 57 rupees, one packet of RSP, try it, sometimes, teach ABCD, like some people teach, now, if someone teaches me ABCD, I know what is Z, next step is, Apple will tell me, simple calculation, practical things, which you can give instantly, other schools, NGOs, what you can give, which will work immediately, and take one brand, if I could motivate one person, in a month, what will you do, try it, rest, I won't take much time, about Rahulji, I would like to say one thing, when he came there, we are very worried about the people, who come and meet us at Kashi, as he said, if you come, you will find me clean shaven, my hair, every month, I change it, sometimes black and white, I try to stay behind, it is very safe, like he is sitting at the back, you can see everyone, observation is also good, and you can see everyone, but for the first time, about Shraddhan, I was out of the group, so the day he came, we were sitting at the side, and making fun of him, you saw, I was sitting at the side, just joking, Delhi people came, Delhi people will come, Delhi people, you will get a very good impression, you will go to UP, so when he got down, sat in his UP dress, and started spilling water, so I said, this guy is a bit different, that was when, I started reading him, started interacting with him, and he said a few things, like someone, we were talking about him, he said a long time back, like they say, a person is very great, if you make the person sitting in front of you, feel that you are very great, that is greatness, and luckily, I get to keep on meeting people like this, who make us feel as if we have done something very big, in Banaras, by cleaning just 2 or 3 of 84 Ghats, and those people, every week, sometime in 2011, sometime now, that keeps us going, that is also greatness, because one word of appreciation, gives us strength, with these words, I would like to say thank you, I would like you all, in any way, to share your ideas, thank you very much. That's a concern at the PMO.
And a few days ago, we wrote a letter to the PMO. In August. In August, we wrote a letter to the PMO that you must have seen the photo of Sondhar Punday office, the water pump is being cleaned.
So we wrote in that letter that we are writing this letter to seek your guidance and support if possible. So as soon as we reached the PMO office, the PMO immediately directed the Chief Secretary to UP. I mean, I went there for 2-3 days.
After 2-2.5 months, he reached Banaras to the District Officer. The District Officer sent him to Mahabodh. He came to Nagar.
Nagar came and called the Zonal Officer. The Zonal Officer said, the sweeper there, call him. We wrote a letter to him in English.
But he was scolded a lot. He said, we don't do anything. The PMO has complained against us.
I am a lawyer by profession. That's why I am asking. Did you have any case against the SCSC Act? No.
Look, I am standing in front of you. Because in Delhi, there are many other institutions doing different kinds of work. Because I am a lawyer by profession, people are talking about me.
How can this work be stopped? How can the good work that they are doing be stopped? How can it be stopped? With some excuse... But maybe, maybe this is the reason that they don't have any connection. Maybe they don't want to be Prime Minister. But maybe they can't connect.
Maybe they don't see the potential threat. Maybe that's why... I have a question for you. You said you are from Mukuchung.
15-20 years ago, a man shot many people in Mukuchung. There was a protest here. I am familiar with the people of Naraland.
I know N. Theoza. He was the President of the Founders. I know all of them.
So, while you were in Naraland, you married a soldier. He was also a U.P. man. A man from India.
In Nagami's terms. You married a man from India. You married a man from India.
Seeing the social culture milieu of Nagaland. That too, Mukuchung district. A very sensitive district.
I have lived here in Delhi for 7 years. Right after class 10, I left my state. I didn't know that Nagaland brings kids here.
I think maybe I was exposed to Northern India. So, I also saw that. People from Nagaland also work here.
I know them in many ways. They work in U.P. as well. They do a lot of rituals.
When we talk about Christianity, in Indian society, Hindu society, dogmas, beliefs, there are a lot of problems. You must be facing them as well. They do a different kind of work.
We are two people here. I have a lot of thoughts in them. Religiously, I am from South Pole.
I am a Brahmin. I am practicing. I am a Christian.
But, Bholenath is more partial for them. They go to the temple more often. Because, Kashi is a place where they keep their hands on you.
Because, Bholenath has not kept his hands on me. I am telling you a story. My bike gets stuck when it is full.
On that day, I had to push the bike to the nearest petrol pump. As soon as the petrol was over, I pushed the bike for 50 meters. He felt that someone was hitting him.
He felt that someone was hitting him. At the same time, an auto came and stopped. The petrol was over.
I felt that someone was hitting me. I had a Chinese girl with me. We both were in Banaras.
People from Malaysia, etc. used to come here. Many people used to come here.
Many people used to come here. Many people used to come here. Many people used to come here.
Suddenly, I told the tailor that he is giving petrol. I told him that he is giving petrol. I have seen the situation Spirituality.
Many things. Many things. In Banaras, I have seen it.
It was the same. I have seen it. I have seen it.
You are involved in very good activities. How does it contribute to your purpose of life? What is your purpose of life? How does this contribute to that? I think the question is also for Prem Satora because she has been searching her purpose of life. You want her to answer? No problem.
Frankly, when I was leaving defence, when our papers came, so, while serving, I didn't have that much time or maybe I was too tied up to think about this. When I came out during that journey, that 45 days, I got a lot of time to talk to myself. And then, I came to realise that nothing is that complicated.
I never asked myself. Since then, I just left it on whoever I believe in. I never asked myself what is the purpose of my life.
I just try to do things, whatever comes my way. I just ask myself once, have I been honest? That's it. If I could say yes, that's my purpose of life.
It's not very complicated. People do ask. But, yeah, everyday I just ask one question before I speak that, was I good? That's it.
So, maybe I could answer the way you want. When I was a giant, or in college, it was a dream of mine to become this, to do this, I will become this. After that, this will happen, this will happen.
It's a naturalistic thing. The purpose in life is one. At that time.
After that, maybe, in search of that, after my graduation in Shillong, I came to Delhi. I did one MA course. After two years, again, I said, no, I have to earn money.
That was my purpose at that time. Then I started teaching. I was working at the British Council.
I was drawing out my salary, whatever. After that, I spent seven years here. But still, in my mind, this is not the end.
I wanted to do something more. And the salary I was getting, to wear a band, to eat, I was not satisfied mentally. I have to do something.
I have to do something for the society. That's when we started this Zakaar Seva. After coming back to Kashi, when I was literally involved and started working with people on the ground, I think this satisfaction, what I am getting, this blessing, what I am having right now, I think, I have told so many times to my volunteers, to the kids, we are everyone, every one of us, we are born on this earth, and this is a truth, we will all die one day.
And many a times, we are very eager We cannot accept that. But, I say last year, after that transition, I say anytime if I die also, I don't mind. Because maybe something or somewhere or something I have done, for example, I did something small.
So, I don't mind. So, now what I am doing, I am happy and I am blessed. Thank you.
You should involve people. You are doing good work for them. I am quite sure whatever you say will have relevance to them, they will take it seriously.
When I see in Delhi, our purpose of life has become so self-centered, I don't think well. Whereas all our religions, any religion, the purpose of life is to realize the divinity within ourselves and the process is to bring out the best within us. As you said, at the everyday end, am I honest to myself? Can you pass on this message to your students? Because that will be the change.
What I am finding is, I appreciate Rahul does so much work, I admire him. In my family, I find that still people are so self-centered. They can't understand the pleasure that you get by serving.
We have forgotten the words of Vivekananda, where he says, the purpose of life is to manifest the divinity within ourselves by bringing out the best within us. Each one of us has unique potential. My request to you, please do convey this.
Let it be an integral part of your work. Do that better. Because all these helps are temporary.
As you say, it doesn't matter. But if you can share this information after having earned their confidence and respect, they will listen to you. And that, I presume, will be really beneficial.
Thank you. I request you if possible to visit Varanasi first. Stay with us for some days.
We are actually nothing. We are just a few faces. I am not even a face.
She has been much of a face. There are people like Swatiji, Pateesh, Adarsh and hundreds of other names. I find myself lucky that I know them.
Like you were saying that people are self-centered. These people, they are not like... I don't know. Sunday, morning 6.30, someone wakes up.
The first thought in his or her mind is... It's not only about cleaning. Sometimes, they will just start some slates, start teaching some kids. They will start teaching kids there.
I am talking about the ghats. They will see some old person who is getting up from a wheelchair. The stairs are like this.
Standing. They will think what can be done. And they hunger to do something different.
It's such that I get inspired. A 40-year-old man, he is thin. He is also a trader.
Sir, can you take him upstairs? I don't care. He is thin. He is 21 years old.
I will say that I am a soldier. I won't say anything. I will take him upstairs.
My legs start shivering. He did it. Somehow, I feel that spark is there.
Yes. It's not like before. Your generation saw it.
Like in Delhi, it was there before. Earlier, there was no need to build houses. It was to build roads.
Earlier, there used to be a mill in the village. If it had to be built, 4 kg of jaggery would go from my house. And people used to make it together.
Today, you don't find that. So, try to come to Delhi from Banaras. Come to Delhi from Banaras.
Which we rarely do. We don't go anywhere together. Delhi is the last place I travel to.
I don't want to come here. What you are saying, I think it was very hard for you to say this being in Delhi. But I realized that I don't come here.
No matter what happens, I don't come here. If Rahul doesn't come, I don't come here. But maybe this is a start.
And thankfully, we have a team. We have people like you to carry this message forward. We will definitely do it.
And maybe you asked, the purpose of life in Delhi. We can make it better. That purpose is always evolving.
I have seen their team. 10-15 kids whom I have witnessed. I am sure the team is much bigger.
I am not kidding. The dedication those students, those kids have for both of them is amazing. I feel maybe because of their leadership the purpose they have got that is it is crazy.
They come every morning. What I have understood is live to give. We are alive to give to people.
How to give? By cleaning, by helping someone, by doing something. As long as we are alive, why should we be afraid of dying? Because I am now living to give. Not to take.
I went to Ujjain once. I stayed there for 3 days. It was very busy.
I came back. Both of the times I couldn't get a reservation so I had to go to the general market. When I went, I swore that I won't go.
Now I won't go. When I came back, suddenly I realized that so many people who have come there no one has called them. They have come of their own free will.
They are not in Samadhi. They just roam around seeing no positive energy. I went back again.
There was no ticket. Within 2 days, I was in such a state that I came up wearing any footwear. I had bought a dhoti of God's colour.
I had kept a shirt like this. I used to roam around like a sadhu. In the morning, I used to say let's see how the food is prepared.
You won't believe I am walking like this. Someone will hold my hand. Brother, this poori is very tasty.
It is made of horse meat. That's when you realize that we can read divinity in many books. But when you face it, I was talking about the rotor.
If someone picks it up, it feels good. If you feel that, you will feel that something is different. Then you become much more stronger.
People start looking up to you for solutions. Look at Shramdan. Shramdan makes you different.
You don't wait for someone to come and do it. Whether it is about traffic. You get stuck somewhere.
You get down and start sorting things out. When you know that you have the solutions, you don't wait for anyone. Maybe it is because of the watch.
The time spent there, makes you wonder why you are stuck. And people break mountains. I don't know.
We are getting to know. I don't know what people are doing. And this is the purpose.
Their aim is to inspire others. And there are a lot of people. There are around 130-125 crore people in this country.
There must be lakhs. Their story has come out. If 25% get motivated, everything will change.
And the situation is not bad. There are good people. What is your purpose? Your message is to inspire others.
Tell me. I am Krishna from Vedant Foundation. Actually, you told us that you went to Ghats and Kashi and Banaras.
Your team did a video clip. It was very good. And congrats to all your team and you.
Actually, when sir said Rudrawala, that you told us, I remembered a funny incident. That happens with me. When I was coming from school, there was an uncle.
I said, the bus, the orange bus, was not able to climb the stairs. I said, uncle, may I help you? He said, yes. When we got down, he said, God bless you.
I had a friend with me. I said, I got the bus. As ma'am said, we live by dying.
I said, I will live as long as possible. So, he got jealous with me. The next day, what he did, we were at the bus stand.
There was an uncle, not so old, around 58. He was not attached. I said, uncle, may I help you? He said, get lost.
I have one question. With both. Like you said, Narendra Modi tweeted you.
He said, good, and you do this. So, I told you, before that, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, before that, I used to keep my garbage on the side of my bag, where you keep water. I wanted to ask, whatever you did, that is done after Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or before that? Before that, in 2013, in 2012, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was always held in India.
In 2013, there was a Shudra Kishore Ghat in Banaras. In Banaras, Bilwaiji used to work from that Ghat. That Ghat was a little dirty.
There was a Shivratri fair. We used to go there, we started from there. But at that time, we didn't upload photos.
We couldn't see anything about it. We used to go and do it. It was a little anti-social.
Yes, it was anti-social. As you said, I don't come to Delhi. Yes, that idea was there.
Now, maybe it will change, but after 40 years, it will be revealed. No, it is a presumption. Yes, it is a presumption.
Now, maybe it will change. In Banaras, I always get down and someone or the other takes a rickshaw or shares something with me. This is what happened.
I said, I don't come to Delhi. Today, for the first time, in Delhi, there is a positive gallery. Look, I have come here.
So, maybe, something else will happen. Today, for the first time, I got this type of gallery. In the beginning, those kids who know their direction, are looking for something.
So, for the first time, there is a positive gallery. When I was in the army, I came here from Delhi. So, I have some memories of that time.
It was a little negative. Now, four or five days ago, we were here. Delhi's parathas are very good.
So, I walked from here. From India Gate to Paharlengar. And that day, on Sunday, it was not that clean.
So, something or the other keeps happening. But, as they say, it keeps evolving. So, maybe, something positive will happen.
In our food distribution program, it happens every day. Participate. Something positive will happen.
Definitely. I would like to tell you one thing. If you are young, if you are thinking of this type of thing, believe me, if people worry about my career, what will happen to me? You don't have to think.
You are creating a base. You get everything positive. You don't even wish.
What will you wish for yourself? Like you said, I want to own a company. Maybe you have the potential to own 50 companies. Like I said, I am afraid of wishing.
I wish for a small thing, which can give a lot. People, my colleagues, who have retired with me, ask me, how do you manage? Many people know about me that my father has 2-2.5 acres of land. 3-4 buses run on it.
A lot of bricks. And I don't break their perceptions. Because, what is the point? People work so hard to raise money.
We go to Kashi, and a long time ago, we decided that we will never buy two things, a house and a car. As soon as we thought of this, we started getting finances for all these things. Because, where I spend 5 rupees per month, in my home, there my work increases.
Because of which, maybe a person's fee gets deducted. If I had bought a house for 30-40 lakhs, then I would have been paying EMI. Today, people go for EMI, which makes people think, I will have a lot of money.
I will be able to manage. But, trust me, it's not a big deal. It hardly takes us 2-2.5 thousand rupees 3 acres of land.
The tender amount is 3-4 lakhs each. It's not that difficult. The perception has become that you work a lot.
People use the word social work. Social work. You do it.
Not for others. You will feel that way. He was talking about a bank.
You will feel that way. Do something different. And share it.
Because, even after doing it, it doesn't feel good. When someone appreciates, you do feel good. He told a very good thing.
He said that the house around you needs regular cleaning. That's a very good thing. Very good.
Then, I said, I am done. He said, I am done. Both of them tell me that if someone sees what will he say.
You get to know that they know that you are doing a good job. No, no. They support you.
If you have a possibility, you can do it. Because, Shah Rukh Khan's work is very difficult. In a few days, he will run out of time.
So, Shah Rukh Khan's work is very difficult. Either you can manage it. Or you can get him a subject in 12th that he can do it.
Sir, I have a request. You organized this seminar today. You said you don't like to come to Delhi.
My request is that you can organize similar kind of programs in Delhi schools and colleges. Because, since you both are socially active, lot of people know you. And school children and college children, they want to do lot of things.
They are more materialistic right now. So, you can organize some talk shows like this that will inspire those children. Sorry.
You have to come more often to Delhi. Can we do this more often? You eat chicken. Sometimes, in the evening, he throws his plate out of the car.
He has come up with a new way. His way is whenever he throws something, he apologizes to Mr. Modi. And this is a very practical problem that even after explaining so much, no one is ready to improve.
Sir, I have a question. You don't expect this for one generation. You don't expect this for one generation.
If he apologizes to Mr. Modi, the children will listen to him. It is possible that he apologizes to Mr. Modi but he does it. It has changed.
We need to do this. And you have to target the schools. We will not leave them.
I am very sad that we are so educated. We are professionals. I am talking about the people of Delhi.
They are educated professionals. But they are not ready to change this. Sir, the child is the father.
You just told us that in August, for two days, we will come to Shraddha. We will stay there for two days. We will stay and talk about Shraddha.
And there are certain foundations here. You are studying. We will ask their help.
Because it is practically not possible for us to come every time. But yes, sure. We have to do this.
Just keep your ears open and see how we do it. We will try to spread it as much as possible. I said, we will totally go for it.
I went to Manali. I told you how much you needed me there. I used to work with a company.
When I got there, I used to head supply chain. After leaving there, I am a farmer. So I started doing farming.
What I have done is, I have formed a group. And what we do is, we have made a group. Most of the small farmers, they are forced to sell to middlemen.
So we have made a group where they don't go to the RBI. They sell directly to big companies. And the middlemen are cut off.
So that's what we are doing. So we can also do something like that. I have a company from Netherlands.
It's not a company. It's kind of an NGO. It's a group.
They want to be a part of it. So they are already doing something in Jodhpur. So they want to start this.
So we can go to that group. And then, I don't know. I don't know.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... I will give you a solution, go and explain it to him, he will agree. It is not like that. The reality is that you will plant a tree and his goat will come and eat it or he will cut it and throw it away.
This is the reality. How can you save just one tree? How can you save one tree for your father? How many of you must have heard the story that the demon used to put his life in the parrot. These days such stories are not heard.
Earlier we used to hear the story that there was a prince, he hit him and nothing happened to him. And like Rama, Datta and Amrita, they were not told by the sage. By the way, it is said that my life is in this tree.
How do you feel? Sir, I like it a lot. So, that's it. What do you like to eat? I will talk to Nirmal Baba.
What do you like? Assume that you like ice cream, I will tell you to eat Kandhal ki Tadkari. Will you eat? What does the other person say, what does it mean? Do you like it? That's it. Others laugh at others.
See, today I am coming in front of you for the first time because in the last 6-7 years, I have met other people. What will others think? And others think a lot. Others keep thinking.
So, don't think about others. What do you like? Because this breathing is going on. If it doesn't stop, it will stop.
I mean, personally, it will stop. Others can't do it. They can't stop it.
I mean, if you do something, help someone, this is very good. And I said, don't stop the good work that comes to your mind. Keep doing it, keep doing it, keep doing it.
And, because, I was told, you are such a big girl. I am not a big girl. But people say this.
Still, you joined a government job, you joined a private firm. You get a salary, every month. People say this.
But, I don't need this. So, do good work for others. Whatever you are doing, if you pay attention to it and keep doing it, you will get a lot of blessings.
Whatever people say, don't listen to them. So, give up deflecting. She speaks less in Hindi.
Because she was afraid of what people would say. Because our boys used to say, when are you coming? They don't understand what the problem is in the beginning. Later, I told them to stop thinking.
Only then will they learn Hindi. So, today she speaks a lot. Otherwise, she gets stuck.
She gave a great speech. In fact, I was shocked that Nagami is such a good Hindi speaker. In fact, she gave a speech in Kannada in Bangalore.
I was really impressed. What other people think, if you leave it, you get a lot of freedom. Yes.
Please. I always start doing something good. While walking from there, I met a poor person.
I put him on the side. I put him in the guest room. I gave him food.
I put him in the bag. If there is a friend who is eating something, I will tell him not to eat outside. Put him in your bag.
Those girls say, why did you put him in the bag? Go and sit in the room. Listen to me. I will take him.
What will he say? I don't like this. I don't like this. I don't understand friends who talk like this.
They are my friends. They are my classmates. I can't stay in my own.
I think that I have to do what they do. I have to make them understand that I am doing it. I am doing it right.
I am doing it well. I don't like to talk about this. Very good.
I have to say one thing. I have been talking to him for a long time. I met him for the first time.
I used to have a lot of fun with him, but I used to get distracted. In 2011-12, I saw a photo of him and his son, they were flying kites. I liked it a lot.
Inspiration? After that, I used to get a lot of notifications. I used to keep my phone and TV in my car. Wherever I went, I used to see him.
So, I used to keep my phone and TV in my car. Inspiration? I don't have to tell you. Even though you are anti-social, you try to do something.
So, I liked that. I used to see a lot of my friends, they used to ask me, why are you wearing a blanket in the car? I used to tell them, it's because of the virus. Sir, I wanted to ask you something.
You must be reading a lot on Twitter and Facebook. But, this is not the case. There is a lot of good work happening.
There are small groups on social media. There are a lot of positive things happening. And, I think, you get maturity.
Gradually, you read and you understand. People read. You feel that I have used the wrong word.
You get a sense of help. You get that maturity. And, that's a very positive thing about social media.
Does anyone else have anything to ask? Sir, I want to go back to the pledge. As such, there is no formal pledge. There is no formal pledge.
I will ask a question and the answer will be the pledge. Both of us travelled. And, I am putting a lot of pressure on you emotionally.
We have come from Belarus. We have come here. Only because there are seven of us here.
The intention was, Shanta, don't say it. I am saying it for the third time. Don't say anything.
But, out of all of you, in a minimum of ten minutes, in the entire week, I am saying this as a minimum, in a minimum of ten minutes, in the entire week, you will pledge that I will do something for ten minutes or I will do something which will not benefit my family or me. Why will it benefit anyone else? Only a minimum of ten minutes, maximum you can give your entire life. This is one part.
After doing it, you will share it with us at least. Share it with us. We will tell you what you have done.
I have a lot of interest in that. Because, I am a soldier. So, I don't have to think much.
Maybe, what you have done will be so different, maybe you could have scaled it up and done something better. And, you couldn't do it. Believe me, doing it physically is not good at all.
If you get an idea while sleeping that this can be done, this can't be done, you write those two lines that what you have done. Because, many times you feel that I can't do this. You write it and send it.
We will think, maybe we will make a wish because every wish of ours is fulfilled. So, we will make a wish that we will do this and it will happen. So, whoever will do this, he will go to the same pledge by raising his hand.
Yes, of course. And, where will you share? I am giving a number right now. Yes, yes.
I am giving your number and I am giving his number. When you use WhatsApp, send it directly to WhatsApp. First, I am giving his number because only he can share it.
What's your WhatsApp? 87 0 should be there. Yes, 0 should be there. See, he is not able to understand.

It may be symbolic, it may be anything, but the message is very clear. Has it been decided? This has been decided. So, Rajiv Chowk, metro station gate number 7, this is the spot which has been allotted to us.
So, you can join us at gate number 7. Is it at 100? No, it is at 4pm. What are the landmarks in front of gate number 7? There is a UCCB showroom. It is A Block.
