The Pandavas were not mythological kings — they were historical figures whose journeys can be mapped with the same precision applied to Egyptian pharaohs or Mesopotamian rulers.
Researcher Jijith Nadumuri Ravi presents his Geography of Mahabharata — the third volume in his geochronology series spanning the Rig Veda, Ramayana, and Mahabharata — arguing that the 85,000+ shlokas of the Mahabharata encode precise geographical and chronological data that modern scholarship dismisses without investigation. His core challenge: Chandragupta Maurya is accepted as historical, but Yudhishthira or Parikshit are called mythical — by the same scholars, using wildly inconsistent standards.
One striking contribution is establishing historical continuity between Hanuman’s encounter with Rama and his later meeting with Bhima — both located in the high Himalayas near the Alagananda river region — providing textual and geographical coherence no prior researcher had achieved. The Pandavas’ final journey circuits all of Bharata Varsha before culminating in the Kailash-Manasarovar region, which the text itself treats as Swarga.
