When Columbus set sail in 1492, he wasn’t looking for America — he was looking for India. Today’s Hindu diaspora asks: what happened to the civilisation that made the world point toward it? Purnima Nath, founder of Spindle India and the first Hindu woman to contest a US Congressional seat, joins Sangam Talks for a frank conversation on the Hindu civilisational crisis as seen from America.
She traces her own journey from a small village in Tripura to engineering, corporate America, and eventually a political awakening triggered by the media’s vicious treatment of Donald Trump in 2015 — which made her realise the same machinery targets Hindus and Hindu civilisation globally. Her thesis is stark: every piece of Hindu-controlled territory — from the original undivided India to the present — has been captured by foreign faiths, consistently and unapologetically.
Her call to action is practical rather than rhetorical: use what you have — Twitter/X, community platforms, school and college outreach — to build the Hindu narrative infrastructure that no mainstream media outlet will build for you. A 100,000-follower platform, she argues, is not nothing. It is the beginning of the alternative ecosystem that Hindu civilisation needs.
