Architectural Applications and the Way Forward I IIT KGP | Aabhas Maldahiyar

Aabhas is practicing Architect with experirnce of more than a decade. He has deep inclination in the field of History buttressed with the charm for telling stories. He lives his profession superimposing various thoughts, concepts and ideas derived from the “gone by days”. He believes that both Architecture and History are strong allies wherein latter depends on former to tell the tale of the matter.

He sees That every Architecture is Germinated by imagining a story of the habitants/ users of near future and the same shall become the source to decode the history of place some centuries later. He divides his literary journey into two phases:Marxist and Ex-Marxist. It was during architecture school days,that he turned into a self-professed Marxist, and a rebel against the tradition,only to feel the inertia during a visit to the great caves of Ajanta that leaves him transformed. In the Marxist phase, he got thorough control on the literature of communism. He penned two words of fiction inspired by the Red Ideology.

His inaugural nonfiction, Modi Again: An Ex-Communist’s Manifesto (2019), chronicles his remarkable journey. Babur: The Chessboard King stands as the inaugural volume in his forthcoming series on ‘Timurid Gūrkāniyān’ (erroneously known as Mughals), founded on primary sources. A skilled reader of Persian manuscripts, Aabhas offers a distinctive lens to historical narratives.
