Professor Ajay Chaturvedi — IIT Mandi faculty, BITS/Wharton/Harvard alumnus, formally initiated Vedanga Jyotish Pandita, and author of the Trilogy of Time series — delivers a mind-expanding conversation on Kala as India’s foundational civilisational principle. He argues that Indian festivals like Ram Navami and Janmashtami are not celebrations of mythology but of precise cosmic moments — observations of planetary and stellar alignments encoded in the Panchanga with zero historical deviation in eclipse records. Western science, he contends, still does not truly understand time. The Swastika, the Panchanga, and Ayurveda are not symbols or systems — they are applications of a deep, living understanding of temporal reality that science is only beginning to approach.

Prof. Ajay Chaturvedi is a professor at IIT Mandi and a formally initiated Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita. His research spans Time Studies, Dharmic Economics, and Sustainable Development, blending Vedic knowledge with modern science. He is the author of ‘The Lost Wisdom of the Swastika’ and the ‘Trilogy of Time’, and founder of the Kautilya Fellowship Network and HarVa. Prof. Chaturvedi is an Engineer from BITS Pilani, a graduate in management of technology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a diploma in public policy from Harvard. A former Citibanker, his work is featured in global institutions like Wharton and LBS, and he is honoured by the World Economic Forum for his contributions to regenerative models and civilisational thought.
