Dr. V. Ramanathan

Dr. V Ramanathan is an Assistant Professor in IITBHU, Varanasi. He is a physical chemist, trained in Laser spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy and computational chemistry. After his PhD from IIT Kanpur, he has postdoctoral experience in Seoul (South Korea), Basel (Switzerland) and Stuttgart (Germany). His current research is focused on surface enhanced Raman scattering and applying Raman imaging in biology and medicine. His other academic interests include the history of science in ancient, medieval India and theoretical aspects of Carnatic classical music. He is a Fulbright scholar and was a member of the national core committee of INYAS, a body of INSA. He has been the chairman of the Karnataka State committee for the position paper on Knowledge of India, Also a member of the research council of the history of science, INSA.
