He was a member of the ‘Backward Classes Commission to Examine Sub-categorization of OBCs’. He holds advisory positions in prestigious organizations like the Indian Council of Social Science Research and the National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies. A prolific writer, Dr. Bajaj has authored 11 books. Notably, he led the publication of the “Madhya Pradesh Resource Atlases,” a series of 9 volumes exploring various aspects of the state’s resources. In acknowledgement of his outstanding contributions, Dr J.K. Bajaj was honoured with the Padma Shree award by the Government of India in 2022, recognizing his dedication, quality of work, and extensive service to education.
