Dr. Jasminder Kaur is the associate professor at Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Kaur initially worked as a freelance designer before joining Banasthali Vidyapeeth as a lecturer in Textile Designing. She later returned to her alma mater as an Associate Professor, where she tirelessly worked towards the revival of the handloom industry in Varanasi. Her efforts were acknowledged by the Government of India and she was honored at the Lakme Fashion Week 2015. . She is frequently invited as a guest lecturer and expert in textile and handloom by institutions like Weavers Service Center, NIFT, and Silk Board. Dr. Kaur is currently involved in innovative textile designing projects and her work is cherished by private collectors both in India and abroad.
