“The Azad Hind Sarkar of United India was the only Government in the world that did not surrender to the Allied forces. The struggle must continue and the last orders were ‘we disband to regroup again’. By end of 1945, it was clear to the British that they have to reach an agreement and leave India. Mountbatten was assigned the specific task to make Congress agree to partition, but he achieved something more than that. The “Tired” Congress decision-makers forgot complete independence and on tables, the partition and dominion status was agreed upon, not independence. This is what I explain based on records.”
